FamilyTime at Camp Tamarack

Family Time is a special opportunity for families to relax and play together in the beautiful outdoors in the Mountains of Central Oregon. It is a way to meet new friends who value an unhurried, fun and renewing experience in the mountains. It is a time when Camp Tamarack Alumni can introduce their families to the traditions that make this camp so special. It is also a chance for families to explore Tamarack more fully as a summer camp for their child.

Horseback riding is available for those interested. We offer group trail rides for adults who have ridden before and for children over 7 years old. Arena riding is the only option for children under 7 years old and adults who are not yet comfortable on horseback. Our qualified staff and miles of trails for riding, provide a wonderful way for adults and children with prior horse experience, a way of exploring our natural surroundings. Please contact Camp if you are interested in private arena instruction for an additional cost.

We also offer opportunities to enjoy swimming, boating, campfires with s’mores, hiking, basketball, tennis, arts and crafts and more. Activities are initiated by our guests while we are there to help provide access to the things which sound inviting. Get involved at the level you and your family feels most comfortable. Camp Tamarack is the perfect place for the active members of your family, as well as those wishing to just relax in the tranquil setting of Dark Lake. As with the best of family vacations the time is yours.

Our chef prepares a variety of delicious and nutritious meals. Lunch and dinner always include a salad bar containing fresh fruits and vegetables. Snacks are always available throughout the day. Vegetarian options are available upon request. Please let us know special requests at least one week in advance of your stay.

This is camp as you remember it, with rustic, dormitory style cabins, double-deck bunks (bring your own bedding), and port-a-potties. Separate bath-houses with sinks and showers are available, as is hot and cold running water. Each family gets a cabin unit to themselves unless otherwise specified.

August 25- September 1
$60 per person/night weekday and $75 per person/night weekend
2-night minimum. Weekdays are Mon night through Thurs night
Kids 3 and under stay for free/Groups of 5 or more staying in the same cabin room
receive a 10% Discount. $25 Discount for Referring a New Family.

(Prices include all meals, offered snacks, at-camp activities, and
one horseback ride per night paid for—Does not include Private Horseback Lessons or all
activities that take place outside of camp)

A private residential camp with sessions for girls, boys, and families. Camp Tamarack is proud of its 73-year tradition in the Deschutes National Forest in central Oregon. Camp Tamarack operates under a Special Use Permit issued by the United States Forest Service.
