Health and Safety

Camp Tamarack pays special attention to the health and safety of each and every camper. In our kitchen, we cook up nutritional and delicious meals to fuel the high energies of our campers. In addition to our daily specials, there is a salad bar available to all. We pride ourselves on hearty cuisine and variety of choices. Please let us know if your camper has special dietary needs, including vegetarian, celiac disease and dairy allergies, we will do our best to accommodate by providing special foods in an integrated way. Come and taste the spirit of Tamarack!

The camp houses a resident camp “nurse”, and a medical clinic is available in the town of Sisters, as are top rated hospitals in both Redmond and Bend. Emergency medical assistance is available 24 hours a day and all staff members are trained in first aid and CPR. At the waterfront, in the arena, and on the trails our staff are not only trained to respond to all levels of incidents and emergencies, but are also highly skilled in preventive care.

Camp Tamarack is proud of its 73-year tradition in the Deschutes National Forest in central Oregon. Camp Tamarack operates under a Special Use Permit issued by the United States Forest Service. Persons of any race, color, national origin, sex, age, religion or with any handicapping conditions are welcome to use and enjoy all facilities, programs and services of Camp Tamarack, located in the Deschutes National Forest and under the jurisdiction of the USDA. Discrimination in any form is strictly against policy and should be reported to the Secretary of Agriculture, Washington DC 20250.
