Tamarack - Driving
Directions
Located in sunny
Central Oregon, Camp Tamarack is a short 20 minute drive
from scenic Sisters,
Oregon (www.mapquest.com link).
Driving time
to/from the Portland International Airport is approximately
3 hours / 160 highway miles.
Approaching
camp from either the west or the east on Oregon Highway
20, turn south at the Suttle Lake Marina/Resort
sign.
This is a paved Forest Service Road. Follow this road
uphill, watching for the signs to Camp Tamarack, turning
left, then staying left at the "Y" - onto the unpaved
road. Continue uphill and turn right at the Tamarack
banner. Please use extreme caution on the last leg of
the entrance

road is
single-lane with blind curves. This road turns
downhill to Dark Lake and Camp Tamarack. For our campers'
safety, please stop and park all vehicles at the gate
house.

A private
residential camp with sessions for girls, boys, and families.
Camp Tamarack is proud of its 73-year tradition in the Deschutes National Forest
in central Oregon. Camp Tamarack operates under a Special Use Permit issued
by the United States Forest Service. Persons of any race, color, national origin,
sex, age, religion or with any handicapping conditions are welcome to use and
enjoy all facilities, programs and services of Camp Tamarack, located in the
Deschutes National Forest and under the jurisdiction of the USDA. Discrimination
in any form is strictly against policy and should be reported to the Secretary
of Agriculture, Washington DC 20250.
