One of the things that makes Camp Tamarack so special is the connection that people feel to it.  We want this camp to continue to be for the community and that is why we need your support. Help us keep this camp SPECIAL!!

Camp Tamarack’s programs and future vision are made possible with your support.

Donations from individuals, family partners, and business partners; grants and in-kind support all play an essential role in helping to ensure that our programs are vibrant, meaningful, and sustainable.

Our Funding Needs:

The Brynne Smith Summer Camp Scholarship Fund

Camp Tamarack is committed to making camp inclusive and accessible for students of all backgrounds and welcoming kids whose families are unable pay the full cost of the program.  We offer partial and full scholarship opportunities for students every summer and we are working to expand our scholarship opportunities to 20-25% of our summer campers each year.

Caring for Our Facilities

Restoring Camp Tamarack to a vibrant place and maintaining its vibrancy with healthy facilities is an ongoing labor of love!  After purchasing the camp in 2013 we inherited many greatly-needed repairs. We have worked hard to revive and renew Camp Tamarack’s plumbing, electrical, and septic systems, to re-roof the lodge and cabins, to provide new heating sources for cabins.   Our work is ongoing. Upcoming projects for the next 2 years will be 1) to replace our aging kitchen ovens, range and walk-in refrigerator with new, full-of-life appliances and 2) to invest in securing underground electrical lines to protect them from falling branches and winter storms.

Our Student Leader Program

An invaluable leadership opportunity that can guide high schoolers toward careers in education and conservation.  As volunteers who serve one-week as cabin leaders, role models, and teachers at Outdoor School and Winter Wellness, Student Leaders grow a sense of leadership skill and belonging, and join a purposeful community in which they can flourish.

Our Wall of Giving Partners:

An additional option is to become a Family Partner on our Wall of Giving.  We will engrave a wood cookie with your family name and display it on our Wall of Giving in the main lodge if you give at one of the following levels:

  • $2000+  (10-12” Wood Cookie with your family name or business logo & recognition on our website)

  • $1000     (10-12" Wood Cookie with your family name or logo)

  • $ 500     (6-8” Wood Cookie with your family name or logo)

  • $ 250     (3-5” Wood Cookie with your family name or logo)

We value the spirit of giving and your support.  Any dollar amount is greatly appreciated!

If you wish to designate the giving category you would like your donation to go toward, please make a note of which fund you are contributing to on the PayPal donation form.  Otherwise, we will apply your donation where it’s needed most.

Camp Tamarack is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.  We will send you a letter and receipt acknowledging your donation.

Other Ways to Support Our Program:

  • Volunteer your time: We need carpenters, electricians, mechanics and anyone willing to spend some time keeping our camp up and running and looking beautiful!

  • Bring your campers: Camp Tamarack strives along with the state of Oregon to provide an Outdoor School experience for all 5th grade students in our community. If your school does not currently attend, let us know! We also provide a traditional summer camp experience, send your child for an unforgettable week on Dark Lake!

  • Donate goods and items: If you have any items in good condition, consider if they'd be of use at Camp Tamarack! Contact Charlie at to see if your items could be put to good use!

We are grateful to have such a caring, supportive community -- one that spans generations of campers and Camp Tamarack experiences!   Thank you!
